More than a week passed by after my maiden post. Due to little indisposition I could not write anything. Now I just share a little with what I read during my rest days.
The divinity that shapes our ends is in ourselves....... All that a man achieves is the direct result of his own thoughts.----James Lane Allen
Man becomes that of which he thinks.-------Upanishads
TAT TWAM ASI --- Chandogya Upanishad --- This is called MAHA VAKYAMS Litterally means great statements or commandments --- simple meaning is 'YOU BECOME WHAT YOU ARE" You become what you think of yourself..
The mind is everything; what you thing you become......Buddha
"As he thinketh in his heart, so is he" -- Bible
A man literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.
A man will find that as he alters his thoughts towards things and other people, things and other people will alter towards him..........Let a man radically alter his thoughts, and he will be astonished at the rapid transformation it will effect in the material condition of his life The divinity that shape our end is in ourself. It is
our very self..............All that a man achieves or fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts......
A man should conceive of a legitimate purpose in his heart, and set out to accomplish it. He should make this purpose the centralising point of his thoughts. He should steadily focus his thought forces upon the object which he has set before him. He should make this purpose his supreme duty. and should devote himself to its attainment, not allowing his thoughts to wander away into ephemeral fancies, longings, and imaginings. Even if he fails again and again to accomplish his purpose the strength of character gained will be the true measure of his success. and this will form a new starting point for future power and triumph.
In all human affairs there are efforts and there are results and the strength of effort is the measure of the result.Chance is not. Powers, material, intellectual, and spiritual possessions are the fruits of efforts; They are thoughts completed, objects accomplished, visions realized.
The Vision that you glorify in your mind, the Ideal that you enthrone in your heart -- this you will build your life by . THIS YOU WILL BECOME..
Most of the above observations are taken from James Lane Allen in his book "As a Man Thinketh". He had been very poor in his youth, had known none of the advantages so many young men count essential. He had started out with nothing to build except what was within himself. But he had known what he wanted to do and be; he had kept his dream, his ideal, everlastingly before him; he had tried to live the life he imagined and in the end his dream had become a reality
It was to be a brief essay, as Allen originally planned it. But he has been thinking about the subject for so long, and there was so much he wanted to say, it was soon extended to book length. He called it "As a Man thinketh"...........and it was to become one of the most stimulating and inspiring little books of all time. He had hoped it would be helpful; he had no idea it would become a compelling influence in the lives of countless people.
At the end only I realised that there is a link between my maiden post and the second one.
So Let the noble thought comes from within to make YOU A NOBLE MAN.
Bye for now
